This is it.

This holiday is more than just a day, it is what life is about. No, I am not saying my life is about presents, hot coco, family, and Christmas movies... but rather I hope my life is all about Jesus. Jesus is not just the reason for the season, he is the reason for life.

GET THIS:
God made a good world.
We (Adam and Eve) were part of the good world.
God had perfect love for us and we had perfect love for Him.
Perfect love involves the freedom to choose to love Him (who wants be forced to love?).
Given that choice, we chose to love ourselves more than Him... this changed everything.
The world was changed from a naturally perfect and good world to a naturally sinful one.
This is why there is sorrow and hurt in this life, because of humanity's 1st choice to consider ourselves more important than our God.
God could have punished his people for betraying him, but instead he sent His only Son.
This Son was sent to the world to live a perfect life and have perfect blood.
When he was murdered by us (humans), his perfect blood replaced our sinful blood (lives) that we had created.
So those who believe that God's only Son was sent to earth to replace our sinful/dirty blood with His perfect blood are able to come into the presence of the Most High, Perfect, Flawless, Holy God and have eternal life with Him.

This is why Christmas is the reason for life. It is celebrating the birth of God's only Son who gave up everything for us. What more could we ask for than to be pardoned for all the sins we have committed against the one who created us? What a gracious, forgiving God we serve. Merry Christmas, everyone!
