Hi, I'm sick of question Titles.

While I still like my theme of Inquisition, I am so totally bored with the Question Titles. So I will just be random for awhile... but still answering questions that I think of throughout the day...

As I was sitting in my bed tonight, I was thinking about what it meant to believe. Well, my first instinct is to look in the Dictionary (original, right?)...and here is what the first dictionary on googlesearch said : to accept something as true or real.

What is something you believe in? Well for starters... I believe that this chair that I'm sitting in is real and true... if not, I wouldn't sit in it because I wouldn't trust it to hold me. So what I believe about this chair affects the way I approach the chair and act. So even though believing is a thought or opinion you have about something being real and true, those thoughts you believe in affect the way you live.

Defining the word believe is important to me, because I think we can say we believe in something, but then we don't let it affect our day to day lives... and that makes me think that we don't REALLY believe it. Because if we did believe in it, it would change how we approached life.

These thoughts have lead me to think that I need to start believing. And that starts by figuring out what I think is true and real. WOW...that sounds like quite a journey... wish me good luck!

  1. I really liked what you said about defining "believe", because that will structure everything we say we believe "in". Great post.

  2. When we play Simon Says we do the thing that is being asked of us...when we play Jesus Says, we memorize the statement, even go to church or a small group to talk about what it would look like if we did do it, and fool ourselves into thinking that we believe it , even though we haven't done it or aren't doing it.
