Q: Who is the ultimate love of my life?

A: That would be the creator of this universe.

I forget if these blogs display at what hour I am writing this, but it is currently 3:24 a.m., but FRIENDS I HAVE DISCOVERED SOMETHING THAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN WAY MORE EXCITED ABOUT BEFORE. And it just happened to be at 3am tonight because I couldn't sleep due to a coffee addiction. But boy am I grateful to God for that addiction!!! Anyway... I am reading a book called "Reason for God" by Tim Keller, and there is a section entitled "Love, the ultimate freedom, is more constraining than we might think". And it starts by talking about how when you love someone, you want to change for them because you want to give them want they want and please them in anyway you can, no matter the cost. It also goes on to say that if both sides are not willing to give up their individual autonomy that the relationship will be unhealthy.

So you think sometimes that you are giving up everything for God? That your relationship with him may be a little one sided???? you are wronnnnngzo.

God gave up everything. He gave up his son. He became a low-life Human. He Suffered. He died.

Now THAT is what I am lookin for in the love of my life... how could I not love Him the most? How could I not want to please him the most? If my relationship with him is one-sided at all it is because he gave up everything and I am occasionally giving up some stuff for him. Yeah, it might cost me some desires, some dreams, some hobbies of mine, but it is totally worth it. His Love constrains me and I am totally into that.

I was way too excited not to share this with you guys. If you are looking for the ultimate lover, He is God and He is the most selfless friend you will ever find.

"Freedom, then, is not the absence of limitations and constraints but it is finding the right ones, those that fit our nature and liberate us."

  1. I am commenting on this because I just love that last quote. Tim Keller, I am thankful to God that he put you on this earth.

  2. My prayer for you and your siblings has always been that the people i your life are more in love with God than they are you. That means you'll be surrounded by people that will be there for you no matter what, always want the best for you and point you towards Him in ALL circumstances.
I think I might have to buy the book after reading this blog. I'll stack in on top of 10 other must reads on my desk right now ...sheesh!
