Since the fall of Adam and Eve, women have fallen into the sin of being manipulative. Not trusting anyone besides themselves, and in result will try to control everyone and anything around them to get what they want.
So what is your focus? Are you lying in wait to see what man you can get or get from him? Or are you living to give.
A wild woman is a hunter. She expends a large amount of her time scheming plans of how to get what she wants (boy, money, house, marriage), and when she gets them she is often dissatisfied quickly... she moves on to the next thing she wants. She is a predator setting traps that she herself will only get caught in. Everything she gives has a string attached.... "if I give you this, you have to give me that..." mentality. "Because of her need and greed, she is incapable of loving freely like Jesus-- with a pure, no-strings -attached kind of love. "
A wise woman's focus is the Kingdom. She is too busy trying to make God famous to let anything else command her attention. Both the Wise and Wild girl enjoy and glorify something but the difference is that the Wild Girl enjoys and glorifies herself while the Wise Girl's focus is God. "She seeks to enjoy Christ and make Him famous in her sexuality, in her family, with her money, and with her career."
As women, I think we need to remember that we do not need to take matters into our own hands. "A girl gone wise does not lie in wait for men or wordly "Stuff". Instead, she busies herself with her mission and trusts the Lord to take care of the rest. "
Glad to see you're still reading the book. I think in each chapter I see myself past and present. No one wants to admit who they really are...true motivations...and how they manipulate others or situations. I think that's why I'm your first comment. Good summary of the chapter. I'd love to meet with you and chat about the book.
